Hey there! Jumping right into budgetary considerations, huh? Very fiscally responsible of you. Let's get a few things out of the way first, shall we? Here is a list of all the things you get with me as your photographer, regardless of how much or how little you'd like to pay. (I've always wanted to be a writer, so I like words. If you don't, skip to the bottom for a TL;DR. Slacker.)
1. I'm an "all day" photographer. The thought of leaving your wedding at some predetermined time, regardless of where we are in the timeline, makes me feel icky. So if you're looking for a 6, 8, or 10 hour photographer, you'll have better luck elsewhere.
2. I get lonely, so I always bring a second photographer with me.
3. My time is your time, so if you'd like to travel halfway across the state to take pictures on your wedding day, I'm down.
4. You've spent a lot of money on your wedding, so I want to photograph all of it: details, preparation, portraits, candids, and group shots are all included. Typically we take anywhere from 3,000 to 5,000 pictures.
5. BUT you don't necessarily want to see ALL of the pictures. Some are duplicates, sometimes your eyes are closed, some just aren't flattering. I narrow the pictures down to the best 10% or so and edit them. Believe me, that's still a TON of pictures, and I promise I won't hide anything from you that you would actually want to see.
6. I don't like to rush through your pictures - they're important, and I want to take my time and make sure you're receiving the best possible images. Typically within 4 to 6 weeks, you'll have your pictures.
7. I'm super paranoid about hard drive failure, so all of your images are uploaded to "The Cloud", where they'll stay for 10 years, password-protected.
8. These are your pictures, and I think you deserve to have access to them. Print rights are always included.
9. BUT, if you'd like to purchase prints, canvas, or albums through me, I would be happy to offer you a great product at a reasonable price.
10. I like you two. I'd like to get to know you better. So, like, I dunno... Maybe we can get together sometime? Take some pictures? Hang out? That would be really awesome.
OK, I know what you're saying: "Whoa! That sounds amazing. I don't care what it costs - I want you to be my photographer!"
Wow. Really? I'm so flattered. But I think in the interest of transparency we should probably discuss money. You've got a budget, I've got bills. It's better this way. So the next question is: what are you looking for?
